AHS Recruiter Spotlight: Allyson Harms

Headshot of Allyson

Recruiter relationships with their travelers go far beyond finding the right travel assignment. They can be a go-to resource for your most important questions, and a shoulder to lean on when things get tough. But nonetheless, the bond you form with your recruiter will likely become your greatest strength. Having someone in your corner can make all the difference.

To showcase the many personalities we have at AHS, we want to shed light on some of our most seasoned recruiters. People who have built long-lasting relationships with their travelers and continue to lend a helping hand for those looking to get into travel nursing.

We spoke with Allyson Harms, account manager, recruiter, dog-mom, and wine connoisseur, and this is how it went…

When did you start working for AHS?

“In the Summer of 2018.”

What do you like most about your job?

“The best part of my job is talking to travelers and managers all day. I love connecting with people and working with them long-term. My favorite part of the day is talking to my travelers that have been with me since the beginning!”

What type of certifications/specialties do you work with?

“Dialysis Nurses and technicians.”

What question are you asked the most lately and what is the answer?

“Q: Can I travel to *very specific location request*? A: Possibly! We get jobs all over the U.S. and there is a possibility that a job is going to pop up in your specific location request. We can never predict exactly where jobs are going to be, but we can certainly work on getting you as close to that location as possible!”

What are some of your hobbies?

“Currently working on training for my first marathon, I love cooking dinner every night, pre-covid I used to travel many times throughout the year, and I picked up a lot of reading throughout quarantine.”

Where are you from?

“Born in Detroit, MI – raised in Yukon, Oklahoma”

How would you define your personality?

“I have an outgoing personality that likes to recharge and rest at home after the day is over!”

What’s an interesting fact about you?

“I got into videography a few years ago. Now, I help capture moments – whether that’s at weddings, with friends, or in my spare time.”
